TheRevueltoentirelyrewritestheLamborghinitechnicalparadigm,startingwiththeiconicV12enginethatfindsinthefirstLamborghinihybridachanceforevolution;forstarters,ithasbeenrotatedby180°andoptimizedtoharmoniouslyco-existwiththreee-motors(twoonthefronte-Axleandonebehindtheengineitself).TheoneunderwentbytheV12engineisafull-onrevolution:anew,higherefficientcombustionsystem,anewexhaustsystemthatreducesbackpressureathighrevs,anewintakesystemwithimprovedtorqueandpower,anewoilandwatersystem,animprovedvalvetrainwithnewHLAradiustappetforhighspeed,and,finally,aweightreductionof-33.5kg.ThenewV12enginecanproduceawhopping825PSincombinationwiththeelectricenginesforamaximumspeedofover350km/h.
TheRevueltoisequippedwithan8-speeddouble-clutchgearboxinstalledtransversallybehindtheengine.Thislocationchoicepresentsseveraladvantages,suchashelpingtobalanceweight,improvingcabinroominess,andmaximizingtheRevuelto’shybridpotentialthankstotheconfigurationwiththerearelectricmotor,allowingthegearboxtoeitherstarttheengineandrechargethebatteryorsupporttheelectricdriveandperformregenerativebraking.Inaddition,ahigherclutchtorquecapabilityimprovesperformance.
